A walking tour where you will discover what it was like living in Zagreb during the turbulent years of its recent history. The tour meets at the indicated time in Ban Jelačić square.
During a little over two hours we'll tour the streets of Zagreb, exploring the devastating consequences of the war on the civil population. We'll see those places worst affected by the bombardments, and discover new buildings where once there were schools, hositals and houses.
Our first stop will be the World War II underground tunnels representing the history of Croatia and Zagreb throughout the 20th century, including World War II, almost 50 years of communist Yugoslavia and the fall of communism in Croatia through the Homeland War.
As we learn of the history, formation and end of Yugoslavia, we'll make our way to the The Memorial Centre of the Rocket Attacks on Zagreb, where we'll see audiovisual material from the war, and will visit the permanent exhibition.
